The Salon Art + Design Fair, the sister fair of the esteemed Paris Biennale, opened to the public on Friday, November 14, at the Park Avenue Armory in New York. Produced in collaboration with France’s Syndicat National des Antiquaires, the Salon hosted a collector’s preview for VIP guests on the evening of November 13.

Launched in 2012 by Sanford L. Smith + Associates, the Salon welcomes over fifty leading galleries offering fine and decorative arts and design from 1890 to the present. This year’s roster of exhibitors includes Hostler Burrows (New York), Todd Merrill Studio Company (New York), Lillian Nassau LLC (New York), Throckmorton Fine Art (New York), Moderne Gallery (Philadelphia), Mazzolena Galleria d’Arte (Turin), Axel Vervoordt (Antwerp/Hong Kong), L’Arc en Seine (Paris), and Kraemer Gallery (Paris). From contemporary art and design to antiquities and ethnographic art, the Salon brings together an astonishing range of material.

The Salon will also offer exclusive tours led by distinguished interior designers and architects to the fair’s VIP and collector attendees. Each hour-long tour will provide guests with personal insights from today’s leading tastemakers. Tours will be led by such luminaries as Robert Couturier, an iconic interior designer known for his trademark continental and international style; Muriel Brandolini, a celebrated designer who is lauded for her modernist-tropical palette and eclectic interiors; designer David Scott, whose highly functional interiors meld practical architecture with a unique design sensibility; John Douglas Eason, an interior designer with a knack for tempering modern design with traditional elements; and Winka Dubbeldam, a pioneering architect and founder of the innovative New York-based firm, Archi-Tectonics.

The Salon Art + Design Fair will take place through Monday, November 17.
