Luciano Dall'Acqua

Italian
Luciano Dall’Acqua was born in Venice. He started as a painter, but soon he entered in contact with the wonderful world of glass. This was an opportunity for him to become acquainted with the glass-working. In the 1960s he participated to the exhibitions promoted by Egidio Costantini who had founded “La Fucina Degli Angeli”, a laboratory where some of the most popular artists of that time approached this particular and malleable material for their sculpture. Picasso, Max Ernst, and many others, were guests in those exhibitions. For Luciano this was the beginning of a life spent to produce an endless number of glass art-pieces, which found recognitions and buyers all-over the world. Of course this was not a reason for him to leave painting an activity that he continued to produce contemporarily together with sculpture. His shows have been so many that it is superfluous to quote them here. Just one of his last award “The Oscar for painting” in 2003.
