Mally Skok

American

Originally from South Africa, Mally Skok is a Boston-based Interior Design and Textile Artist. Following a global upbringing, Mally and her family moved from London to the Boston area in the mid 90’s. Since launching her successful interior design business shortly thereafter, Mally has built a client base that is enamored by her creative mix of layering the new with the old, and transforming homes into comfortable, colorful living spaces.

Mally was inspired to create her own fabric and wallpaper line after traveling to India with her sister, and the first Mally Skok Design collection was launched in 2009. Since then, the collection has grown to include 101 fabrics and 46 wallpapers, each hand-painted by Mally and offered in 15 showrooms in the U.S. and abroad.

In 2019 Mally launched the widely acclaimed Well-Traveled Home capsule collection in collaboration with Dowel Furniture. The collection includes nine furniture designs and trays inspired by Mally’s love of travel, antiques and her personal fondness for timeless simplicity, functionality and detail. Having a passion for comfortable interiors with bold designs, Mally embraces her love of vintage and classic designs, which is reflected freshly in the Well-Traveled Home collection.

Mally was recently selected by House Beautiful to be a member of its newly-formed Advisory Council informing the direction of the magazine and meeting monthly to discuss key issues facing the design industry right now. She considers this to be one of the highlights of her career as a designer - she believes that she can be a strong voice for the younger generation of designers coming up behind her in the industry.

Along with ongoing projects across the U.S., Europe and South Africa, Mally has achieved accolades in top tier design publications with recent features in Veranda, Architectural Digest, House Beautiful (April 2019’s cover), The New York Times, Domino, Homes & Gardens UK, New England Home (summer 2020 cover) Luxe Interiors & Design Palm Beach, and Palm Beach Life.

Mally is the co-founder of the Heading Home to Dinner table top gala at the Boston Design Center which she put together with fellow designers in 2017. Now in its fourth year, this design fundraiser, which received acclaim by Architectural Digest as a signature design event in Boston raises much-needed awareness and funds for combating homelessness. This year, in lieu of the gala taking place, Mally launched on social media a “Pause for Peace'' video with her fellow co founders, raising much-needed funds during this challenging time. Mally also serves as an Advisory Board member of the Design Influencers Conference, as well as for the New England Luxury Design Summit.
