I have always been fascinated with art and design. In 2000 I moved to New York City and was taken aback with its creative energy and effortless sense of organized confusion. I was fortunate enough to work with some of the most talented and creative minds early on and from there began to develop my own personal sense of style. Whether designing a great piece of furniture or decorative object, I have a tendency to gravitate toward contemporary forms that utilize unique materials to create something original. I love pieces that appear simple but upon closer inspection reveal an unparalleled attention to detail, craftsmanship, and use of materials that may have otherwise gone unnoticed. That's the true essence of good design.
Post World War II there was a renewed demand and opportunity for artists to shed the past and embrace the new. Some of the best design and art quickly embedded itself in our culture and it's those individuals who continue to inspire me the most. Some of my favorite designers include Tommi Parzinger, Edward Wormley, and Karl Springer. It's my opinion that good design transcends all social and economic boundaries and can be infused into any aesthetic. Keep it you and keep it fun.
