Charlotte Perriand
French, 1903 - 1999
Paris-born Charlotte Perriand studied at École de l'Union centrale des Arts décoratifs where Maurice Dufrène was one of her teachers. She designed using steel and aluminum during her early years. Perriand later worked with Le Corbusier and his cousin, Pierre Jeanneret. The three designed using innovative tubular steel furnishings. During the 1940s, Perriand lived in Japan.
