Signed. George Rodger gives an account, illustrated with photographs, of his journey through West Africa, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Libya, Egypt, Syria, and the East Bank. This work was the outcome of a roving assignment given to him by Life magazine.
In 1947, Rodger joined Robert Capa, Henri Cartier-Bresson, and William Vandivert as co-founding photographers of the Magnum photo agency.
First edition, signed in black pen on title-page; 8vo (234 x 152 mm, 9¼ x 6 in); black-and-white photographic plates; occasional light production creasing, endpapers illustrated with a map, red cloth-covered boards, titles to spine and upper side in gold, mottling and fading to spine and edges, photo-illustrated dust-jacket, wear to extremities, lower side rubbed, ownership signature in pencil on half-title, a good copy; [ii], 152pp. -
