More than 3,000 colour plates. A rare complete set of the major, colour plate botanical work Deutschlands Flora by botanist and illustrator Heinrich Gottlieb Ludwig Reichenbach (1793-1879), published in instalments in 25 volumes between 1837 and 1867, and then continued in additional volumes through 1912.
33 volumes (23 parts in 10 text volumes and 25 parts in 23 atlas volumes), 4to (varying sizes); 3,484 colour plates, contemporary manuscript annotations on the endpapers, uneven spotting and tanning of contents, plate 168 in volume 13-14 loose, small tear to plate 98 in volume 15; contemporary half calf, black morocco labels, marbled sides, bindings rubbed, volume 20 with loss from the top quarter of the spine, two volumes rebound to style a very good set.
