French 19th Century Napoleon III Inlay Wall Clock

A Napoleon III style wall clock, with exceptional mother of pearl inlay, from 1850s France. This shapely clock is square in shape, with a wonderfully wavy frame. This frame is hand carved and ebonized. It closes before a hand-painted clock face, which is surrounded by a brilliant brass band. The timepiece is embellished with beautiful inlay mahogany in contrasting tones of ebony and brown, and exquisitely lustrous mother of pearl. The clock has had its mechanically operated dial case replaced with a battery operation that will allow you to enjoy your antique wall clock without regular winding.
