Description This evocative sculpture of a female perched cross-legged on a rock formation seems to have captured her in the act of bathing. Michigan-born Grise (1917-1982) taught drawing and art at Chaffey College in Rancho Cucamonga, California. Strongly influenced by Hans Bellmer, Grise's works are predominately erotic and mysterious in nature, usually featuring a nude set against an abstract, lyrical background.
