Description
This exceptional pierced fender reflects the height of Neoclassical taste as popularized by the designs of Scottish architect Robert Adam and his peers during the late eighteenth century. The ornamental frieze features a flaming urn, paired griffins, anthemia, scrolled reinceau, and a series of fluted panels that coalesce in superb harmony.

Origin: England Period: 18th Century Materials: Cast and engraved sheet brass with iron wire and screws. Condition: Excellent. The fender has minor expected dents and wear that are commensurate with age and use.
