Description
Probably English, Mid-19th c.
Stoneware with brown glaze.
Minor losses and wear, otherwise in fine condition.
Provenance: Private collection, Fairfield, Connecticut. Purchased at Sotheby’s, 2003.
This rare pair of open-work jardinières is unusual in both design and form having intertwining tendrils with leaves and floral motifs supported by three stump-feet. -
