    19TH CENTURY FOËNE À ANGUILLES
    Wrought iron eel spear with three finely serrated pointed flat tines, single lateral bar with rivets, leading to hloow handle. Mid 19th century Mounted on a clear perspex stand.
    Origin: The Estuary of the river Charente in the West of France.

    19TH CENTURY FOËNE À ANGUILLES
    Wrought iron eel spear. With six pointed round tines from a 'T' shaped bar with a hollow handle. Circa 1850-1900. Mounted on a clear perspex stand.
    Origin: Cotentin, Normandy France. The Cotentin peninsular also know as the Cherbourg peninsular and lies on the west coast of France.

    LARGE 18TH CENTURY FOËNE À ANGUILLES
    Wrought iron Eel Spear with four serrated pointed tines coming at a slight angle from the hollow handle, with a single lateral bar. Mounted on a clear perspex stand.
    Origin: This spear is typical of those from the Poitevin Marsh - Marsh of Poitou, a large area of marshland in Western France.
    It is the largest marsh on the Atlantic coast and second only to the Carmargue in the south of France. Late 18th early 19th century

    Large wrought iron eel spear. With six serrated pointed tines held by a double horizontal band attached by rivets.
    This model of spear would have been used for fishing on foot. Mounted on a clear perspex stand.
    Origin: Brière, this is the marshy area to the north of the Loire Estuary at it's mouth on the Atlantic Ocean in Brittany, France
