18th Century Indo Persian Vanity Box

Extremely rare and highly important Indo-Persian vanity box from, circa 1780.
Box inlaid with exquisite mosaic inlay, including we believe to be, 14-Carat gold (or higher grade)!
In the Indo-Persian style of mosaic. Green semi precious stone, bone and pewter in star-shaped geometric designs.
Box opens up to reveal a travel mirror and pull-out drawer for toiletries underneath.
The interior is lined with the original deep blue velvet.
It is amazing that this piece has survived in such good condition. It has had some restoration to the mirror, but the exterior is fully original and exquisite !! -

Origin: India Period: 18th Century Materials: Sandalwood, Mosaic, Gold Condition: Good. Wear consistent with age and use. The box is overall in SUPERB original condition. The escutcheons have been later gilded and the mirror is a replacement. Most importantly, the inlay is Mint.
