    A 18th-19th century Chinese Fruit Box. Wooden octagon bowl box with gilt painting and red lacquer. Complex three part wooden serving bowl, tray, box. An early 19th century Qing Dynasty Imperial style fruit box. Having three serving pieces, two bowls and one tray. The three pieces can be arranged in various configurations to achieve different serving positions. Meticulously crafted with specially cut solid pieces of wood joined together by dowel and tenon and mortise joinery. Much of the story board painting has been worn away, some seam openings, completely strong solid and stable. The box only fits together one way correctly matching each side.
