Description
An attractive Meiji period bronze of a woodcutter sawing a large tree trunk, he is standing on top of the wooden trunk, raised at one end on a trestle, and sawing with a large semi-circular toothed saw, wearing traditional clothing and with a pouch at his belt inscribed with a warning about the risks of fire, with a russet patination. Japanese, circa 1880.
