Price Upon Request
  • Description
In the mid-19th century, Cornelius and Baker was one of the largest factories of its kind in the world. It was best known for its manufacturing of lighting. Their clientele extended well beyond the borders of this country. In addition to lighting, the firm began producing sculpture for display in homes and advertised them as “bronze ornaments”. They were actually patinated zinc made to look like bronze. These sculptures achieved the same incredible detail found on the firm’s renowned lighting devices. This large figure of a fisher woman is a perfect example of Cornelius and Baker’s exquisite modeling.
