Description
Very rare civil war confederate brigadier general saddle pad. With museum framing using UV acrylic. You can see both sides.Notes from the original owner I purchased this from in 2012
This Is an original Civil War Texas State Civil War Saddle Blanket. It was on a 20-year consignment at a Mo. Historical Society Museum until my father in laws passing in 1999 at which time it was released back in our possession by the museum curator, we decided not to re-consign. The museum had it on display as Confederate Civil War Texas Soldier Saddle blanket. . It has a few moth holes and nips, but makes a very nice display piece, The 2 sewn on stars are in superb condition considering their age. The blanket appears to be made of wool The trimming as well as stars are unknown material to me but original to the blanket.

I have just received an email from respectable source that this is Indeed A Confederate Texas Rangers Mounted Calvary saddle pad. It Extremely Rare and a major part of history.
He also had a gutta percha image of a Texas Cavalryman on a horse with the saddle blanket. I have a xerox copy of the photo he would not sell the image.
