English Victorian sterling silver snuffbox. Made by Charles Horner in Birmingham in 1893.Rectangular with hinged overhanging cover. On cover, two hounds tug at the leashes held by a countryman. On sides, a wraparound frieze with the hounds unleashed and in pursuit of a boar. A rural idyll with trees, farmhouse, and manor. At a time when the sun never set on the British Empire there was no place like home. Fully marked. Very good condition.
