Anzolo Fuga Large Hand Blown Glass Bottle with Colorful Murrhines 1959-60
-
Description
Large hand-blown glass bottle from the "Murrine Incatenate" series with polychrome murrhines and tiny mouth by Anzolo Fuga for A.V.E.M., Murano Italy,1959-60. Etched on bottom “Luciano Ferro 1955”. Luciano Ferro was Fuga’s primary glass blower who executed most of his works. After Luciano passed away in 1972, Ada Ferro, his older sister and owner of the glasshouse, had some of the pieces in his personal collection posthumously inscribed like this, some with the incorrect year of production. This vase was made in the ca 1960. The skill involved with blowing such a large piece with such a tiny mouth is extraordinary.
