Description
Patinated bronze Gothic design desk thermometer, the columns and ornate tracery topped by spires and finials are decorated with four religious figures that enclose the dial and thermometer. Maker's bronze label on back and bottom:
Published by B. Day December 20, 1828. The dial markings are unusual. They record fever heat, blood heat, sun heat, temperate and freezing. -
