Letter Holder by Bradley and Hubbard Co. Circa 1890

Description
Brass plated cast iron letter holder portraying a hunt scene with a deer and hunting dogs on each side of the the two sectional desk piece with a decorative floral finial design. Fencing and foliage are also part of the design along with six decorative pad feet and a uniform geometric design circumventing the base. Markings under base "B & H" logo signifying Bradley & Hubbard; and "#3459" embossed underneath. Six slotted screws hold the piece together. Condition is excellent; brass is nice and bright; there is some pitting here and there to center divider and to the bottom surface (see images); does not compromise or impact the appearance. It is a good looking letter holder.
The Bradley & Hubbard Manufacturing Company was established in 1852 in Meriden, Connecticut and became synonymous with the production of fine quality items ranging from clocks and desk accessories, to art brass and iron tables. Many of their items are on display at the Smithsonian Museum in Washington D.C.
