Chinese Porcelain Vase of Ladies in the Garden
-
Description
Antique Chinese porcelain vase from the period of the rose family. On the surface there is a scene of everyday life with four elegant women as protagonists who spend their time in the garden. The Rosa Family is a type of porcelain whose production dates back to 1730. It is a porcelain of indisputable quality both in terms of workmanship and decoration. Its color is characterized by different shades of pink combined with white. It is also known as fencai or ruan cai ("soft colors") and later also with the name of yancai (foreign colors) to indicate the origin of its color. Pink families were typically produced for export and had a more floral style in homage to the newly blossomed Rococo fashion in Europe.
