Distillery Weathervane from Long Island, circa 1880

Description
Pflug and Ackley’s Beverage Company was founded by Henry E. Ackley and Daniel Phlug in 1880 as a drink manufacturer and bottler. This weathervane stood on top the Phlug and Ackley bottling department and sales rooms in Hempstead, Long Island and is pictured in the Nassau Post in advertisements for the distillery.

The weathervane has a wonderful patina with heavily oxidized areas of copper.
