Creation Date late Edo period, circa 1850
Description Late Edo period karabitsu or six-legged storage chest, used by samurai for storage of body armor. The hiramakie lacquer decorated with gilt gunsen, or samurai war fans, with whole chest supported by gilt metal and copper mounted legs.
