French 19th Century Cast-Iron Wine Corker
-
Description
This cast-iron wine corker, c. 1870’s, was produced by Godin & Fils, Paris, and is marked as such. Although it may appear to be complicated, it is actually quite easy to use. Bottles are placed on the platform one at a time and a weighted lever cranks down to insert the cork. The lower basin collects any wine that may spill over in the process. Retains the original burgundy paint. The basin is marked “Mouillez les Bouchons,” meaning “Wet the Corks.” This corker would make an excellent addition to any wine enthusiast’s collection!
