French master ceramic artist Georges Jouve ceramic cendrier ashtray or vide poche with image of a fig. Part of a series of fig, pear, apple and pomegranite.
Signed Jouve and with his famous monogram plus this one was made for Saks Fifth Ave and signed Made in France as required for export.
Excellent condition, wonderful crackle to the glaze with vibrant greens and beautiful complex white glaze with touch of blush coming through, circa 1950.
No restorations, chips or repairs. -
