This exceptional decorative hardstone piece consists of a quartz base applied with an amethyst, silver-gilt, and nephrite flower study. Made in Europe in the twentieth century, the base has the appearance of a rocky alpine outcrop, while the flower, full of vitality, blossoms almost incongruously from its base; the stem cast in silver gilt, the leaves in nephrite, and the translucent, delicate and exquisitely crafted petals in amethyst. Pieces such as this offer the perfect combination between decorative art and fine sculpture, making a delightful interior addition that immortalises the beauty of a wonderful natural specimen.
