Description | Cast iron hand painted Floral Doorstop made by the Hubley Manufacturing Company, Lancaster, Pennsylvania, circa 1930's. Embossed and numbered "441" on the lower rear base (see image). Fine detail to the casting depicting lifelike opening pink roses with a light orange center, green leaves and a cream colored vase. Cream colored base and a black border complete the coloring. The doorstop is referenced on page 47 in "The Doorstop Book" by John and Nancy Smith written 2006. The doorstop is in excellent all original condition; hand painted, with no restoration or touch up of any kind. A 1939 Hubley catalogue promotes this doorstop entitled "441 Rose Vase" (See image). Also referred to by collectors as "Pink Roses In A Slanted Vase". Dimensions: 10" high x 8" wide x 2 1/2" deep |
