Description
Large Persian solid silver circular box, circa 1920. Very fine engraved decoration. Hallmarked Persian Silver 84 Tehran mark, acid tested for 875 standard. This exceptional and impressive handmade box dates to circa 1910-1920 period. Large round form with lift off dome cover. The base with engraved border of palmette wriggle work and pin prick engraving, the cover with asymmetrical stylised foliate pin prick designs. Measures: Diameter 9 inches, height 1.75 inches. Weight 895 grams.
