Description La main dans les flots (The hand in the waves) is one of the many objects on the theme of the sea, recurring in the work of the artist Line Vautrin.

It is a pocket emptier that represents a small hand lying in the sea waves.
The design of the sea is represented by a cold enamel decoration, in gray blue tones. The bronze objects enhanced with enamel are the rarest of the artist's work.

The theme of the sea is a theme loved by Line Vautrin, there is of course the iconic box and the pocket emptier “La Mer”, but also the Neptune box, La Sirène au bateau, La main aux poissons.

The object is signed by stamping, on two lines "LINE VAUTRIN"
Manufactured around 1950 and 1960, it is in very good original condition and has a use patina.

Line Vautrin's bronze work is immense, she created her first objects around the age of 21.
The creation of objects for the home such as cigarette boxes, cocktail table boxes, pill boxes, ashtrays began in the 1940s.
These objects will make Line Vautrin famous.
