Description Line Vautrin hated numbers, and, overwhelmed by management problems that she decided to close her shop on rue de l'Université in Paris in the 1960s.
The "Le comptable" (the accountant) box and that rare little “L’homme d’affaires” (The Businessman) box illustrate Line's aversion to calculations, accounts and financial management.
We see here the head of a man who obviously suffers from having to calculate too much… This small and funny box in gilded bronze is titled “The businessman”, a rare occurrence and we think unique in the artist's work, it is also signed on the back by stamping "LINE VAUTRIN". In very good condition with its original patina.

Rare box manufactured around the 50s.

Line Vautrin's bronze work is immense.
Line’s father worked bronze and had his own atelier.
she created her first objects around the age of 21.

She rented a booth at the Universal Exhibition of 1937, this exhibition will allow Line Vautrin to make itself known and to diversify its production where she offered jewelry, lady's bag clasps, belt buckles and counted among her client famous people like Yves Saint Laurent, Françoise Sagan, Ingrid Bergman.
