Neptune was the protector of fishermen, boatmen of the sea, islands and shores.
Themes that can be found in Line Vautrin's work on other boxes, "La main aux poissons" (Hand with fish) that we present to you but also "La Sirène au bateau” (The siren with the boat), “La Mer” (The Sea) ...

This Neptune theme comes in different versions, a set of five small size boxes. This is a large box that we present to you here, the lid that opens from the front.

The object was probably manufactured in the course of the 1950s, in very good condition and signed with "LINE VAUTRIN" stamping.

Line Vautrin's bronze work is immense.
Line’s father worked bronze and had his own atelier.
she created her first objects around the age of 21.

She rented a booth at the Universal Exhibition of 1937, this exhibition will allow Line Vautrin to make itself known and to diversify its production where she offered jewelry, lady's bag clasps, belt buckles and counted among her client famous people like Yves Saint Laurent, Françoise Sagan, Ingrid Bergman.
