Description

This dramatic tusk was realized by the esteemed Mid Century American design firm Maitland Smith, circa 1975. It features an elegant tusk in cream hued tessellated stone whose organic patterned grain offers a dynamic contrast to its geometric mosaic construction composed of myriad rectangular pieces. The base features two tiers- the bottom square, the top domed- executed in a sleek tessellated charcoal hued stone with white veins running throughout. There is brass detailing circumscribing the perimeter of the base, as well as on the tip of the tusk. This piece would be a sophisticated decorative addition to any interior from Mid Century Modern to contemporary. It is in excellent condition.
