Description
A superb Meiji period bronze koro in the form of a dove on a roof tile, the bird naturalistically modelled with gilt and shakudo eyes and beak with red nostrils, a section in the back with one feather ruffled to form the cover, the roof-tile cut back in imitation of an overhanging eave and decorated with a chased gilt tomoe-mon. Japanese, 1890. H11in 28cm.
