Mid-Century Modern Danish Black Glazed & Natural Ceramic Hourglass Form Vase
-
Description
This refined Mid-Century Modern vase was realized in Denmark, circa 1960. It features a spherical body that dramatically tapers to its neck before again expanding outwards to its circular mouth. The exterior has been finished in a rich black lacquer glaze applied organically so that it exhibits a subtle impasto in places, while not covering others to expose the natural bisque colored ceramic beneath. The natural ceramic also appears around the circular base of the piece. Subtle and effortlessly elegant, this piece exudes what discerning collectors love about first rate Scandinavian Mid-Century Modern ceramics. With its austere silhouette and monochromatic palate, this piece would be a winning addition to any style of interior from Classic midcentury to contemporary. Excellent condition.
