Description Beautifully textured contemporary wooden skyscraper sculpture on a metal stand. Artist Natacha Heitz finds the primary material for her extraordinary black and white wood sculpture in the Arolla pine. A stunning combination of surfaces and forms, it is the perfect natural counterpart to modern urban landscapes. Made of Arolla pine, this alpine tree furnishes the only type of wood that allows the artist to achieve the astonishing texture she prizes for her pieces. It is the result of the union of wood and fire. After turning her wood to form a totem, she then burns the surface, and carefully brushes it with white paint to highlight the peaks and valleys created in the wood. The beauty and textural warmth make a bold statement for any decor.
