Jewett wrote referring to the Robinson and Leadbeater pottery: “In material, they rank with the best productions of many competing firms, while in fineness of surface and careful manipulation they are rarely excelled”.

Robert Burns is widely regarded as the national poet of Scotland and a pioneer of the Romantic movement. His poem and song “Auld Lang Syne” is often sung on the last day of the year.
