Parade Banner with Eagle and Shield
American, ca. 1875.
Brass, tin and iron; polychrome paint.
Great “untouched” condition, minor loss to original paint.
The eagle has well-defined molded brass, out-stretched wings clasping a Federal shield, fitted on the reverse for holding flags. A superb piece of Americana found in this condition.
