Description This Grand Tour inkwell, in hand sand-cast bronze, is a model of the sarcophagus that held Napoleon's body in Saint Jerome's Chapel in Paris from 1840 until the completion of his permanent tomb in 1861. It is intricate in its detail and amazingly still has all its inner parts: inkwell frame, removeable ink and quill compartments, and even a model of Napoleon’s corpse at the bottom! The statue of Napoleon on top was not on the actual tomb but was added as a handle for the lid. It is inscribed on the underside of the lid with the Greek letters Gamma Kappa. This is the perfect desk accessory for the man who has conquered his world (or has ambitions to do so.)
