Lalique "Trophee" Sculpture in Frosted Clear Crystal, France, circa 1995
-
Description
Lalique "Trophee" sculpture in frosted clear crystal according to lalique "Inspired by the pirouette of famous ice-skater Katarina Witt, the lalique trophy is a sculpture of light. The balance in the composition arises from the purity of the geometrical lines, the glare of satin-finished and re-polished crystal and the strength of its dynamic and aerial movement. This soaring sculpture, amazing whirlwind of crystal, drowns the eyes in a stunning dance." Since 1987, Lalique has sponsored an international ice skating competition in Paris. The sculpture presented here of a flame dancing in the wind echoes the graceful and elegant motion of a skater. Signed Lalique France on the side of the base. Excellent condition.
