Sophie Medina (1932-2010) was a very talented Pueblo potter from Zia. She used natural clay and formed and fired her pots the traditional way. She learned pottery making from her husband Rafael Medina’s grandmother, Trinidad Medina, who is considered one of the Masters of Pueblo pottery. She won many awards at the Santa Fe Indian Market and her pots can be found in prominent museums, including the Peabody, School of American Research and the Heard Museum.
