Description
Celestite on Crystal base
On a small island, just off Ohio, in the middle of Lake Erie, a German immigrant founded a winery in 1857. While digging a well, he discovered a cave 40 feet below the surface, where ethereal blue crystals shimmered from every surface, some reaching nearly two feet in length. The cave, now called Crystal cave, is actually a geode, the world’s largest on record. Studio Greytak’s Celestite on crystal base pays homage to this feat of nature. A tiny cavern of delicate prisms sparkle beside a series of larger celestite crystals, radiating divine peace and eliminating stress. This mesmerizing stone rests on a contoured altar of clear quartz, the master healer.
Legend says that celestite originated in the stars, a gift from the seven sisters carrying the wisdom of the heavens. Those who listen closely might still hear strains of angelic choirs in perfect harmony. The delicate, celestial blue crystal matches the pristine hues of the sky on a clear day, and its presence soothes, comforts, and gently guides the soul to joy.
Often too fragile to cut for jewelry, celestite is a sought-after collector’s stone, and its presence in the enormous Crystal Cave geode draws those looking to bask in its calming and peaceful energy.
Celestite most often forms in sedimentary rock when materials containing sulfate and strontium collect and settle beneath the waters that carried them away. Over time, the elements bond and crystals shaped like prisms or like thin plates grow within spaces in the rock. Minute traces of gold, a metal born in the stars, within the crystal’s matrix give the stone its heavenly shades of blue.
Fiery emotions cool in its presence, supplanted by a gentle, positive energy. Celestite guides the spirit to light and love and restores a joyful balance in life.
The Navajo people believed that rock crystal caused the Sun to cast its light upon the world. Clear and colorless, it is considered a light-stone—the intermediary between the visible and? invisible worlds. A powerful form of quartz, rock crystal has been used for centuries in crystal balls to foretell the future.
Place this piece in a bedroom where its gentle, loving vibrations can obliterate the burdens of daily life and guide the soul to light, love, and restoration. -
