Description An original Tiffany Studios Favrile Glass Vase Tel-el-Amarna style, originally referred to as "Byzantine" by the glass artisans at Tiffany Studios. A collector and enthusiast of ancient art from around the world, Louis Comfort Tiffany formed a vast personal collection antiquities for study and based many of the designs produced at Tiffany Studios on these historical designs.

The body of this original Tiffany Favrile Glass vase, in a rich saturated blue tone, is of waisted baluster form with a bulbous shoulder, the rounded neck decorated with intersecting zig-zags, a motif typical of the antique Byzantine glass collected by Louis C. Tiffany, alternating between silvery iridescent and milky white, against an iridescent gunmetal background.
