Very fine pair of Japanese bronze figures by Miyao Eisuke, Meiji period (1868-1912).
One standing wearing full armour, the other beating a drum, their coats finely carved with ho-o and dragons, with wood stands decorated with gold lacquer ho-o and foliate scrolls.
Extremely fine quality and condition.
Each signed Miyao in a rectangular reserve.
Measures: Taller figure is 9" high with base x 4.5" wide.
Taller figure without base 7.2" high. -
