Victorian Country House Oak Letterbox

Description
With a brass slot stamped “LETTERS” above a hinged door with two glazed panels and a self-locking Brahma brass lock (original key included). Mail boxes of this type were fixtures in the entrance halls of every Victorian and Edwardian country house where guests and residents would deposit letters to be collected by the postman frequently each day.
Good original condition, the Brahma lock indicating the quality of the piece.
