Description | Brass and granite bookend, signed William Guillon Signed William Guillon Limited edition of 20 Signed and numbered Barocco granite, solid brass Dimensions: H 30 cm x W 22 cm x D 12 cm Handsculpted in France At the crossroads between his hybrid influences William Guillon took, for this series, his inspiration in the 18th century romantic imagery, Caravaggio and still life. This is how he created a set of timeless objects which adress his favourite themes?: balance, tension and interplay of massive materials. Bronze, marble and copper cross paths in these objects and elegantly evoke the greatness of the masters of Romanticism. William Guillon William Guillon’s main influences are strong artistic movements, often dark and filled with modern melancholy. Obsessed with a futuristic dystopic vision, the issues he addresses are always loaded with his attraction for a strong imagery. Beyond his influences, he has always been driven by his love for noble materials, raw materials to work on and embellish without altering them. Always valuing handicraft work, his objects are designed as high quality products, without ever compromising the aesthetics for the easy option. William Guillon has set up his studio with, as a basis, a reflexion around black and darkness. His interest for luminous objects was indeed born of a desire to carve this darkness with light as if it were a pure and precious material. William Guillon’s creations are handmade in France, are all available in various finishes and materials. Additional Options: Different finishes and dimensions are available. |
