Description
The United Firemen's Insurance Company of Philadelphia was incorporated in 1860 by a group of 28 engine and hose companies not part of the Fire Association of Philadelphia. The company adopted the new steam engine for their firemark showing a desire to be associated with the latest innovations in fire prevention. From the Milton Celsnick collection of Penn's Landing, Philadelphia.
