ART DECO DESIGN BEIGE, BROWN, GREEN AND PINK HAND-KNOTTED WOOL RUG
-
Description
A rug or a painting? At first glance, it’s hard to tell. We like to think of it as a work of art made using threads. Inspired by Art Deco, Modernism and Avant-garde, the design is abstract and dynamic. The main serrated field of the rug carries zigzag and arrowhead motifs pointing in opposite directions which create an illusion of movement. Confidently applied colors, including brown with burgundy undertones, pink and teal enrich the design. This bold yet uncomplicated composition is presented against a beige background for balance.
On top of excellent presentation, this new rug can also boast of refined workmanship. It was masterfully hand-knotted of wool in accordance with traditional techniques. Under proper maintenance, it will serve its owners for generations without any signs of wear. - More Information

Founded in 1965, Doris Leslie Blau’s rug emporium is the stuff of design legends. For decades it was known as the go-to source for those seeking the best in the unusual antique and avant-garde. Now owned by Nader Bolour, to whom Doris turned over the business, the gallery has not only continued the tradition of carrying the best of antique and vintage pieces, but has also forged ahead to create unique and innovative contemporary and custom rugs as well.
