This Retro style creation by NOV24 Studio, Vienna is a fusion of Persian tribal aesthetics with that of post Second World War British textiles. Retro style is a style that is imitative or consciously derivative of lifestyles, trends or art forms from the historical past. In the 50s and 60s, dramatic changes occurred in British textile design, namely that patterns suddenly escalated in size and became much freer and the palette of dye colours was also transformed from the pasty pastels of the 30s to astringent acids. This design is a perfect example of genre.
