Large Vintage Tribal Tuareg Leather and Reed Rug, North Africa, 1960s
-
Description
A midcentury tribal rug or mat handwoven by the Tuareg tribes in Mauritania of reed bound with leather. As such, it has all the "imperfections" one can expect from a handwoven vintage piece. No two rugs are ever the same. This particular rug has exquisite "earth tones" in dark brown and reddish brown geometric shapes running down the length of it. Classic and elegant for all types of decors.
